Guild,
We learned the motivations and design methods of the Jedi classes in this weeks Developer Dispatch which came out with the Friday updates. Customization is going to be one thing that enhances game play along with choices of game play options. All of the details can be viewed here: http://www.guildumbra.net/custom.php?gid=111348&page_id=&page_id=69365
We also got a cool new class video on the Smuggler, through a special reveal from the folks at Machinima.com. Machinima is a movement to take in game footage and then dub or script out your own shows or movie shorts. Go check them out on their new channel of Realm here: http://blog.machinima.com/insidegaming/tag/machinima-realm/
The big thing to note in this video is the first known shot of a wookie, which of course had to be the companion of the Smuggler

I know what you mean. Smuggler is about the only class from the light side that I am sad I wont get to run. everything else I want to play is all dark meat.

Are they intending for all smugglers to have a wookie companion? If so, well, I'm not so keen on that. Han Solo and Chewbaca's relationship is rare and based on the life debt he owed him for saving his life. Han essentially became a smuggler and then a rebel *because* of or *for* Chewbaca. He was an Imperial Captain prior to that.
It would seem odd to take something like that and make it commonplace. Although the "make it like the movies" angle would seem to invite it.
Interesting....

I'm sure BioWare plans on all smugglers having there very own wookie companion. I for one wouldn't mind this to much as long as companions are VERY customizable. I would hate to walk into a cantina and see a few smugglers standing around all with their individual gear and face models and all having a wookie that looks just like all the others. This would look REEAALLLY silly.
