re: Crafting is king
by Hammer Six on Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:45 pm
The majority of the questions I have received seem to cover Crafting. I generally don't craft in MMO's, with the only exception being SWG. This game had the crafting and gathering mechanic that made things seem fun or at least interesting.
It is my hope that they take the things that really worked well in SWG, such as the crafting, the gathering harvesters, and the factories to mass produce items.
Finally, do I have any volunteers for the next podcast on Sunday or Monday?

crafting in SWG was fun indeed. I really hope they incorporate a lot of those mechanics and items as well. Trying not to get my hopes too high because for some reason I am afraid I am going to be disappointed in the crafting for SWTOR. Don't know why I feel that way I just have this sneaking suspicion....
depending on the time sunday I would be able to join you guys. But what about Pax? wont you be knee deep in that then?

well from Daniel Erickson's reply it seems that the "shopkeeper" experience that so many of us loved from SWG is no where on their radar. This is very disappointing as it was one of the funnest things for me in SWG and would have been something I would have died for in SWTOR.
I can see where the writing on the wall is heading with crafting and all related mechanics and its not looking pretty.
